About the project
Release Athens is a festival that satisfies many music tastes, and it also attracts a significant number of spectators from all over the world. Since 2016, many artists have taken to the stage across a variety of genres, including Iggy Pop, Liam Gallagher, Pet Shop Boys, and Slipknot.
The aim of this website re-design was to bring a refreshing new look to the forefront, as they set to return to the live stage after two years of Covid-19 closures.
As well as designing a modern, secure, compatible and functional website using their existing WordPress CMS platform, we also integrated marketing & SEO tools, including Yoast SEO to boost conversion of ticket sales.
The homepage re-design was a high priority in the overall design transformation; as there was a strong need to improve usability and conversion. Inspired by the materials of existing festival posters, we used these graphical elements to elevate the brand identity. Combining these with videos and imagery was also a key focus to engage the customers with the exciting atmosphere of the festival experience. Other deliverables for this page include an updated navigation, improved news module and an area to feature the upcoming festival artists.
We continued to consider how the brand colours and image styling should be considered for the content and modules needed for these pages, in order to establish design consistency and flair.
